Burano, Italy

Burano

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve been sharing our honeymoon in a few different parts each week (including Venice and a little video). I didn’t want to do a honeymoon overload by sharing it all at once, back to back. Plus, I think it’s nice to mix it up – what do you guys think? This post is about Burano and I might as well call it the colorful houses post because that’s pretty much all you’ll see. It’s THE most colorful place I’ve ever been to and you can’t help but be cheery when you see all those bright colors together in one special place. So from Venice, Dave and I hopped on the vaporetto and took a day trip to a few of the smaller islands, one of them being Burano. If you go to Venice and have enough time, I highly recommend going to the island of Burano. It was nice to get on a boat and escape the crowds of Venice. There were still a fair amount of tourists in Burano, but just not as many (you’ll see I was able to get some pictures without any tourists. Score!) I was so in love with the islands character and charm. Everyones home had cute window shutters and pretty flowers in the window sills. Ah, I love! We walked around and just soaked up the island atmosphere and, as you do in Italy, stopped for some pizza and wine._DSC2116 copy_DSC2064BuranoRed, Pink, Blue Burano HousesCat In A Window BuranoBurano Italy_DSC2062 copyYellow House Burano_DSC2066 copyBurano_Italy

So cute and colorful! It reminds me a bit of some streets in Brazil and Mexico. Hope you are having fun!

Thanks Daniela. I’ve never been to Brazil but that’s definitely on my travel list, especially if they have colorful houses like these ones!
