Green Tea Lemonade

green tea lemonadeDon’t you love the feeling when you love something that you know is good for you? Green tea is just one of those things for me. I find it so refreshing and it is a great alternative to coffee, especially when I want a dose of caffeine. And now that it is officially spring, I’m looking forward to slowly weaning myself off of hot beverages and on to rekindling my love for cold teas, coffees and juices. An old favorite of mine is green tea lemonade. I’m a huge fan of the Starbucks version, however, I often ask for a quarter of the amount of sweetener because I find the regular recipe way too sweet. This green tea lemonade recipe is so easy to make, is great for serving friends and is tasty and reviving too!

*makes one serving

  • 1 green tea bag
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of boiling water
  • 1/4 cup of zest and juice of fresh lemons
  • 3/4 cup of cold water
  • lemon slices
  • ice cubes
  1. Add green tea bag and granulated sugar to boiling water. Allow tea to seep for about 3 minutes and make sure sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add lemon juice and cold water to green tea mixture and stir.
  3. Taste and add more sugar, if necessary. Add ice cubes and enjoy.
