Sweet Morning Rolls

sweet morning rolls

New week, new carb recipe! For those of you who know me well, I’m a carb lover through and through. I could eat bread for every meal and it’d be so wonderful. Today, I’m sharing a sweet morning roll recipe but really, it’s a sweet roll that could be eaten at any time of the day. These rolls taste delicious plain, with butter or jam or even filled with cold cuts. They are also perfect for entertaining guests. In fact, as a guest, I always say you know it’s going to be a good meal when there’s a bread basket involved. Anyone else agree?

  • 1 package of baking yeast
  • 2 cups of warm milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the milk.
  2. Add in the sugar, butter, salt, and 3 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
  3. Put the extra flour on a flat surface. Move the dough onto the flat surface and continue kneading the dough until smooth.
  4. Grease the large bowl and place the dough back into the bowl. Cover the bowl and let is sit in a warm place for about an hour or until the dough rises.
  5. Punch the dough back down and place it on the floured surface. Cut into pieces and shape dough into a ball.
  6. Grease a baking sheet and place the dough balls 2 inches apart. Cover and let them sit for about 30 minutes or until they’ve doubled in size.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheet and let them cool. Enjoy.
