The Favorites

2013essentialsBefore it gets too far into the new year, I want to share my 2013 beauty favorites. These are products that I’ve continuously purchased throughout 2013. I consider them to be staples for my everyday beauty routine. The products listed are fairly neutral, no bright or bold colors… just simple, everyday wear.

  1. Cetaphil is the best face cleanser. I swear by it. It’s perfect for all skin types. I use it morning and night.
  2. Rimmel Stay Matte is a basic pressed powder. I love that it gives me natural shine control and minimizes the appearance of my pores. It gives off a fresh faced look.
  3. Clinique Cream Shaper For Eyes is an eyeliner that I use during the day and at night. The Starry Plum color makes your eyes pop and it has the perfect hint of shimmer to it. I always get compliments when wearing this eyeliner. I simply love it because it’s not as heavy as using a standard black eyeliner, yet it still gives your eyes a detailed and defined shape.
  4. Diorblush in Happy Cherry gives the most beautiful rosy glow in my cheeks and it brightens up my face. This is a must have for contouring.
  5. I can’t get enough of this Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies mascara. It stays on throughout the day and keeps my lashes full and curled.
  6. I use Coconut Oil as a natural make up remover. It gets everything off including stubborn waterproof make up. I also put it in my hair as a hair mask and leave it in for half an hour or more before washing it out in the shower.
  7. My mom is always telling me to take care of my skin by wearing sunscreen. I apply the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen on my face, neck, and décolleté every morning.
  8. The True Match Foundation acts as the perfect canvas for my face. I love using it because it is oil-free and blends really well.
  9. Erase Paste. I use it because it actually does what it says and erases all those blemishes and dark under eye circles.
  10. L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in Fairest Nude is a really great neutral lip color. It looks effortlessly chic and is fairly creamy and moisturizing too.

I can’t wait to see what products I find in 2014! What were your essential beauty products for 2013? And which ones do you hope to try?

Amanda, you should check it out, it really helps brighten up your face! I wasn’t sure about purchasing it at first, so I bought the sample size which was only $10 at Ulta and it still hasn’t run out yet! I recommend doing that if you want to give it a go! :)

I really want to try Cetaphil if it’s that good!!! Btw I’m looking for a good mascara. Will give the Maybelline a try! It’s quite sad I know but I haven’t found a great beauty product in 2013. Hope this year will be better :D

Mira, you definitely should try Cetaphil. It’s a real simple cleanser, which I love! Also, try out the Maybelline mascara and let me know if you like it! Another mascara that’s a favorite of mine is the Clinique High Impact http://bit.ly/KnkONU mascara, it’s been around for a while but it’s a classic. Hope you find some great products this year, and please do share!

Coconut oil as makeup remover?! YES, I must try this! I’m always looking for ways to simplify my already barely-existant routine. If I can cook and beautify with the same thing …
