I’ve noticed the “Travel” section of my blog has been a bit neglected. We haven’t been on a big trip since January, so I can’t give any recent travel updates, but what I can give are some insights on trips that we’ve done in the past. I love reading travel blogs and recently, I keep seeing Prague, Czech Republic as one of the hot spots to visit in 2016. If you’re thinking of going to Prague this year, I highly suggest taking a bus over to Cesky Krumlov. It’s one of the cutest Central European towns I’ve ever been to. Whether you have just a day or a few days there, here’s what you should do in Cesky Krumlov.

Trdelnik is a traditional pastry found in Czech Republic. It’s basically a hollow bread roll with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. Absolutely finger licking delicious!

Visit The Cesky Krumlov Castle

It’s an uphill walk to the castle, but totally worth every step. The castle is extremely well-preserved and there are beautiful, 360 degree views of the city and nearby countryside. The courtyard of the castle also has a large bear moat. Definitely a cool sight to see!

Go Up The Castle Tower

If you want to take your view game even further, I highly suggest going up the castle tower. It’s open to the public and is 162 steps to the top for a gorgeous view overlooking the Vltava River.

Tour the Castle Gardens

Past the castle are the Baroque castle gardens. The gardens are pristine and everything is perfectly hedged and trimmed. It’s a beautiful place to get lost in. Just make sure you stop at a vendor stand for some ice cream beforehand!

Raft Down The Vltava River

This was one of my favorite things that we did in Cesky Krumlov. There are a few rafting companies that will drive you upstream where you can then rent a raft and float down the Vltava River. The river has man made rapids and waterfalls to float down, as well as little bars to stop for mojitos. If you don’t have enough time to go rafting then just watch the rafters float on by. Give them a little wave! It’s a great people watching scene.

People Watch On The Fountain

The fountain is located right in the middle of the town square. It’s the perfect spot to take a little break, sit down and people watch.
